About the Role
The Company is seeking an Associate Vice President of Communications to provide strategic leadership in the areas of branding, public relations, and digital engagement. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring that the organization's mission, impact, and expertise are communicated with clarity and authenticity to both internal and external audiences. This role involves developing and implementing a comprehensive communications strategy, supervising a team of communication professionals, and working closely with senior leadership to enhance the company's public voice and thought leadership. The Associate Vice President will also play a key role in supporting the organization's individual giving strategy, including major donor cultivation and stewardship. Applicants for the Associate Vice President of Communications position at the company should have a Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience, with at least 8 years' in a leadership role in communications, nonprofit marketing, development, or a related field. Exceptional written, verbal, and interpersonal skills are essential, as is experience in managing staff and cross-functional initiatives. A strong commitment to the mission of the organization, which focuses on supporting successful reentry from incarceration and advocating for criminal legal system reform, is a must. The role requires a candidate with a creative and collaborative leadership style, strong project management skills, and the ability to think creatively about generating new fundraising opportunities. Experience with donor engagement and a background in philanthropy are preferred.
