Interim Controller – Manufacturing (Consulting / Contract Opportunity)

Location: Hackensack, NJ (On-Site)

Compensation: $50.00 - $70.00 per hour (commensurate with experience)

We are partnering with a growing manufacturing company in Hackensack, NJ seeking an Interim Controller to support their finance team during a critical period of transition and growth.

This is a high-visibility role where you will work closely with executive leadership, stabilize accounting operations, and help drive process improvements.

What You'll Be Doing:

• Oversee day-to-day accounting operations including GL, AP/AR, and month-end close
• Lead and streamline the month-end and year-end close processes
• Prepare and review financial statements in accordance with GAAP
• Manage and mentor accounting staff, ensuring accuracy and efficiency
• Partner with leadership on budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis
• Identify process gaps and implement improvements and controls
• Support audit readiness and coordinate with external auditors
• Ensure compliance with internal policies and financial regulations

What We're Looking For:

• Proven experience as a Controller or Senior Accounting Leader
• Strong background in manufacturing accounting (cost accounting, inventory, standard costing)
• Hands-on, roll-up-your-sleeves mentality
• Ability to quickly assess processes and implement improvements
• Strong leadership and communication skills
• Experience with ERP systems (NetSuite, SAP, Dynamics, or similar)
• CPA strongly preferred
