Job Summary:

The Medical Assistant will provide excellent customer service and provide various support duties to our clinical team. The Medical Assistant will work directly with healthcare practice patients, collect test samples, maintain patient records, explain common medical procedures, and assist in the overall success of our day.

Essential & Non-Essential Job Functions/Position Responsibilities:

• The Medical Assistant performs a wide range of duties, including, but not limited to the following:
• Escort patients to and from the exam/procedure rooms.
• Collect urine specimens at each visit, and process according to visit guidelines.
• Record patient information such as vital signs, height and weight, and changes in medical history at each appointment.
• Medication Reconciliation in EMR.
• Communicate to providers using the EMR to change the status of the room patients are assigned and do verbal handoff to providers on patient status prior to the visit.
• Assist providers with minor procedures.
• Collecting and updating patient HX and medical records.
• Clean, stock, and prepare examination rooms prior to patient appointments.
• Work in the front office taking care of tasks such as answering phone calls, greeting patients as they enter office, and maintaining patient records.
• Assist the nurse and office manager in maintaining the medical inventory and placing orders for new materials as needed.
• Administer medications under the supervision and direction of the provider.
• Prepare equipment for sterilization.
• Maintain patient confidentiality, comply with HIPAA and compliance guidelines established by the practice.
• Always maintain good customer service in all situations.
• Occasional travel between offices is required for cross coverage of our practice locations
• Other duties as assigned.

• Has computer skills and ability to learn/operate software programs.

Hourly Wage: $18.00 per hour
