JOB ANNOUNCEMENT The County Auditor investigates all financial claims against the county and pays the bills. The Auditor's Office also examines the financial books kept by the other county officials to see that accurate and complete records are maintained. Posting Date:** August 19, 2026 **Closing Date:** September 2, 2026 POSITION: Staff Internal Auditor POSTING #: 2014-0826sr The Opportunity Under general supervision of the Audit Manager, performs a variety of audits, including financial, performance, compliance, and operational audits. The Staff Internal Auditor conducts investigations and performs contract reviews and financial analyses. Grade: 724 Starting Pay: $65,208.00 - $75,004.80 Annually Schedule: 8 a.m. - 5 p.m. Monday thru Friday Job Qualifications Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in Accounting, Business Administration, Economics, Finance, or other closely related field. One (1) year of auditing experience or related experience. Equivalent combinations of education and experience may also be considered. Preferred Candidates Will Possess Some Of The Below Attributes Preference may be given to applicants with one of the following certifications: Certified Public Accountant (CPA), Certified Internal Auditor (CIA), Certified Fraud Examiner (CFE), Certified Information Systems Auditor (CISA), or Certified Management Accountant (CMA). Additional Eligibility Qualifications Incumbents are required to obtain Certified Internal Auditor certification within twelve (12) months of hire. Incumbents are required to maintain certifications through continuing education courses for all certifications held during County employment. Applicants must possess a valid driver's license and obtain a valid State of Utah driver's license within sixty (60) days of employment. Selected applicants will be required to submit to a pre-employment drug screen and background check.
