Pharmacist Clinical Specialist, Emergency Medicine

Role Overview The Pharmacist Clinical Specialist - Emergency Medicine is responsible for optimizing medication use in the emergency department for adult and pediatric patients. Responsibilities include reviewing medication orders, participating in high-risk procedures like code strokes and resuscitations, providing medication information, and ensuring safe, effective therapy. This role involves direct patient care, medication reconciliation, evaluating drug therapy regimens, and acting as a pharmacy content expert for emergency medicine initiatives. It also includes educating clinical staff and developing guidelines, policies, and educational materials to improve patient outcomes and reduce medication errors. Qualifications & Skills Candidates should have a B.S. in Pharmacy (Pharm.D. preferred), with PGY2 or equivalent experience in Emergency Medicine/Critical Care. A valid pharmacy license in New York or eligible for reciprocity, along with ACLS and PALS certifications, are required. BCPS or BCCCP is preferred. Must demonstrate ability to work effectively in fast-paced, high-pressure environments, with strong knowledge of medication management, pharmacy principles, and regulatory standards.
