Progressive Care Unit Registered Nurse

Assignment Duration

This is a 13-week contract position.

Schedule

3x12-Hour Shifts (07:00 - 19:30), with weekend rotation and holidays as needed.

Job Description

The Progressive Care Unit (PCU) Registered Nurse will be responsible for delivering exceptional care to cardiac patients. The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 2 years of experience in a cardiac progressive care setting and will perform effectively under a nurse-to-patient ratio of 1:5. Experience with Charge RN duties is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Monitor and manage patients with cardiac conditions, including Congestive Heart Failure, Acute Coronary Syndrome, and arrhythmias.
• Perform pre and post cardiac catheterization care.
• Administer and manage cardiac drips and vasoactive drips without titration.
• Provide procedural sedation administration and monitoring.
• Conduct telemetry monitoring and interpretation of dysrhythmias.
• Utilize Rapid Response Teams as needed.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• Minimum of 2 years of cardiac PCU experience required.
• Current BLS and ACLS certifications are mandatory; NIH preferred.
• Active RN license in hand at submission.
• Previous charge nurse experience is preferred.
• EPIC charting system experience is required.
