Position – ASSISTANT DIRECTOR OF NURSING (DON) Location: Fair OaksHealth Care Center–Crystal Lake, IL (on-siteposition) Status: Full-Time Schedule: Days (Monday - Friday) with rotating weekends on call __________________________________________________________________________________________ Job Summary: The Assistant Director of Nursing supports the Director of Nursing in planning, developing, and directing daily nursing operations. Mentor, coach, and support our nursing staff to provide compassionate, resident centered care. Ensure quality standards, regulatory compliance and best practices are consistently met. Ability to develop and facilitate growth within the Nursing Department, relate professionally and positively to facility and departmental staff and to work cooperatively with others at all levels. Address performance evaluations and discipline as necessary. Performs assessment, develop and implement appropriate plan of care based on assessment and diagnosis tailored to meet each individual's needs with the interdisciplinary team. Evaluate the plan of care and make necessary changes as needed. Monitor the care delivered by staff. Delegate and collaborate in providing resident care according to licensure and skill level. Follow up to ensure success. Document according to current standards and established polices. Ability to work independently with organizational skills, to prioritize tasks and to exercise judgement consistent with core values. Ability to model effective communication between resident, family, staff and community. Must be able to identify potentially unsafe situations and respond appropriately. Responsible to know, implement and assure compliance with State, Federal or County regulations and BHS policies and procedures. Other duties as assigned. Qualifications Required Current state licensure as a Registered Nurse, which must be in good standing. Must have excellent interpersonal skills that promote effective communication with personnel, residents, family members, visitors, government agencies, and the general public. CPR certified Two years of RN Supervisor experience with at least 1 year in long term care experience. Must be literate and possess excellent written and verbal communication skills Qualifications Participates in professional organizations. Cognitive or Mental Requirements of the Job Must possess the ability to make independent decisions. Must be able to plan, implement, evaluate, delegate, and collaborate effectively.
