Procurement Specialist

Processes purchase requisitions for the Department and inputs information into the County's financial system. Works directly with external vendors to obtain pricing in accordance with existing term contracts. Solicits quotes from vendors and evaluates responses. Reviews and assists in the development of specifications; recommends creation of new term contracts for ongoing purchases; coordinates with the Finance Department to authorize payment of invoices to vendors. Identifies, receives, stores, and issues supplies and materials. Maintains and initiates requisitions to replenish warehouse stock. Ensures proper account numbers are used when issuing or requisitioning materials. Processes Warehouse receiver documents in Advantage. Researches and obtains cooperative purchase (piggybacking) and Central Master Agreement information as required by Procurement.


QUALIFICATIONS

• Graduation from high school or an equivalent recognized certification, including/supplemented by coursework in fundamental business practices; minimum of six (6) months of word processing experience.

• Experience with warehouse operations,
• Experience using a warehouse inventory software (must specify software on application) ,
• Experience driving a pickup truck (must specify on application) ,
• Experience researching term contracts and creating documents in Advantage/other automated inventory/financial system (must specify on application) ,
• Experience processing invoices, and
• Experience working with vendors and service contractors (must specify on application) .
