Vehicle Maintenance ManagerThe Vehicle Maintenance Manager is responsible for overseeing the maintenance, repair, and operational readiness of the resort's mountain equipment fleet, including snowcats, snowmobiles, trucks, side-by-sides, and other heavy equipment. This leadership role directs daily shop operations, supervises a team of mechanics, manages departmental budgets, and ensures compliance with safety and environmental regulations. The ideal candidate is a hands-on leader with strong mechanical expertise, organizational skills, and a commitment to safety, efficiency, and team development.Duties and Responsibilities:Oversee preventative maintenance and repair programs for mountain vehicles and heavy equipment, including snowcats, snowmobiles, trucks, and utility vehiclesReview daily work orders, operational feedback, and maintenance requests to prioritize and assign shop tasksPlan and coordinate seasonal maintenance programs to ensure equipment readiness for winter and summer operationsSupervise, train, coach, and support a team of mechanics, promoting professional development and operational excellenceParticipate in hiring, onboarding, scheduling, performance management, and employee development initiativesConduct performance reviews and provide ongoing coaching, recognition, and corrective action as neededMaintain department budgets, including labor, operating expenses, parts procurement, outside services, and capital planningSupport procurement planning for fleet replacement, equipment upgrades, and long-term maintenance needsParticipate in Mountain Operations leadership meetings and collaborate with other departments as neededAssist with equipment repairs and shop operations when necessaryOversee compliance with OSHA, DEQ, HAZMAT, SPCC, Lockout/Tagout, fuel system, and environmental safety requirementsManage waste oil programs and coordinate required fueling system inspections and documentationSupport driver training initiatives related to company vehicle policies and proceduresMaintain a safe, clean, and organized shop environmentPerform additional duties as assignedQualifications:College degree in a related field or equivalent combination of education and relevant work experience preferredPrevious experience managing vehicle maintenance operations or heavy equipment shops requiredPrior mechanical experience working on heavy equipment, snowcats, snowmobiles, or similar machinery preferredStrong knowledge of OSHA, DEQ, HAZMAT, SPCC, Lockout/Tagout, and related safety regulationsProven leadership and team management experienceExperience developing maintenance schedules, budgets, and operational plansStrong communication, organizational, and problem-solving skillsProficiency with computer systems, maintenance software, and Microsoft Office programsCurrent U.S. Driver's License requiredSki industry or mountain operations experience preferredEngage in physical activities like walking, and utilizing hands for tasks that involve gripping, handling, and reachingCan safely lift and/or move up to 75 pounds
