Job Overview

We are currently in search of a licensed Physician Assistant (PA) to join our Rheumatology Department .

Qualifications include:

• Active Connecticut State PA License

• Experience in rheumatology is preferred

Key Responsibilities include:

• Assess, diagnose, and manage patients with autoimmune, inflammatory, and musculoskeletal disorders, including rheumatoid arthritis and lupus.

• Conduct physical examinations, order and interpret laboratory tests and imaging, prescribe medications, and educate patients on disease management and lifestyle changes.

• Work closely with rheumatologists and other healthcare professionals to develop personalized treatment plans.

• Assist with in-office procedures such as joint injections or aspirations, and provide ongoing follow-up care to track disease progression and treatment efficacy.

• Prescribe medications, including disease-modifying antirheumatic drugs (DMARDs), biologics, and corticosteroids, following evidence-based guidelines.

• Evaluate treatment effectiveness and modify plans as needed based on patient responses and side effects.

• Deliver clear and thorough education to patients regarding their diagnosis, treatment options, lifestyle adjustments, and self-management techniques.

• Chronic Disease Management:

  • Oversee long-term follow-up for patients with chronic rheumatologic conditions, ensuring appropriate screenings and preventive care.

  • Address flare-ups and complications promptly, adjusting management plans as necessary.

• Experience or interest in managing patients with complex rheumatologic conditions and evolving treatment paradigms is highly valued.
