Production Maintenance Mechanic

What started as a better way for us to manage production and printing for clients has grown into an important leap forward for transforming how businesses communicate and work.The Production Maintenance Mechanic is responsible for maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing high-speed production, mail inserting, and finishing equipment, including BlueCrest Rival and Epic insertion systems. This role plays a critical part in ensuring equipment reliability, minimizing downtime, and supporting safe and efficient daily operations.This is a non-exempt position. Employees will be compensated for all hours worked, including overtime, in accordance with applicable laws.Work schedules may vary based on production demands and may include early mornings, evenings, weekends, or on-call support. Any such work will be scheduled and compensated in compliance with applicable wage and hour regulations.ResponsibilitiesMaintain, troubleshoot, and repair mail inserting and finishing equipment to ensure optimal performancePerform preventive maintenance, including inspections, lubrication, alignment, calibration, and part replacement to maximize uptime and reliabilityDiagnose and resolve mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and control-related issues in a timely manner to minimize production disruptionSupport machine setups, adjustments, and changeovers to ensure smooth production runs and quality outputMonitor equipment performance and identify opportunities to improve safety, efficiency, and reliabilityDocument maintenance activities, repairs, parts usage, and recurring issues accurately in maintenance logs or tracking systemsCoordinate with production leadership and equipment operators to prioritize repairs and communicate equipment statusAssist with installation, testing, startup, and commissioning of new or upgraded equipmentComply with all company safety policies, procedures, and OSHA regulations, including lockout/tagout requirements; report unsafe conditions immediatelyDemonstrate flexibility to support production needs, including scheduled or unscheduled overtime, weekends, or on-call responsibilities, as required by business needs and in compliance with applicable wage and hour lawsPerform other related duties as assigned, consistent with the scope and level of the positionOther duties as assignedRequired QualificationsHigh school diploma or equivalentMinimum of 3 years of experience maintaining or repairing high-speed production, print, mail inserting, finishing, or other automated equipmentStrong mechanical aptitude with the ability to troubleshoot electromechanical, pneumatic, and basic electrical systemsAbility to read and interpret schematics, wiring diagrams, technical manuals, and mechanical drawingsProficiency with hand tools, power tools, and diagnostic equipmentExperience performing preventive maintenance and equipment adjustments to support uptime, quality, and safe operationWorking knowledge of industrial safety practices, including lockout/tagout and machine guardingBasic computer skills for entering maintenance logs, work orders, and parts tracking informationAbility to clearly communicate equipment status, repair needs, and safety concerns to production and maintenance teamsAbility to work a schedule that may include overtime, weekends, or on-call support based on business needsPreferred QualificationsTechnical or vocational training in mechanical, electrical, industrial maintenance, or a related field, or equivalent hands-on experienceExperience with high-speed mail inserting platforms such as BlueCrest Rival, Epic insertion equipment, and similar systemsExperience with related production equipment such as inkjet systems, cutters, folders, feeders, tabbers, strappers, conveyors, and motors #J-18808-Ljbffr
