Full-Time Nurse Practitioner or Physician AssistantWe are seeking a Full-Time Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant to join our team in College Station, Texas. The work is engaging and varied, with a broad patient population and generally low-acuity presentations that keep your skills sharp without the demands of inpatient follow-up.We offer a strong, competitive compensation and benefits package, along with opportunities for professional growth and advancement within one of the nation's leading urgent care organizations.Key ResponsibilitiesEvaluate, diagnose, and treat patients of all ages in an urgent care settingManage acute illnesses, injuries, and occupational health visitsOrder and interpret diagnostic studies, including laboratory testing and imagingPerform urgent care procedures such as suturing, wound management, splinting, and other procedures as appropriateClearly communicate diagnoses, treatment plans, medications, and discharge instructionsDocument patient care accurately and efficiently in the electronic health record (EHR)Code and bill services appropriatelyMaintain productivity consistent with urgent care benchmarksPractice in alignment with NextCare clinical standards, protocols, and core valuesRequired QualificationsActive, unrestricted Texas Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant licenseNurse Practitioner: Family Nurse Practitioner (FNP) certification through ANCC or AANPPhysician Assistant: Current NCCPA certificationActive DEA license (or ability to obtain)Ability to evaluate and treat patients of all agesCurrent BLS certificationProficiency with electronic health records (EHR)Willingness to work occasional weekends and holidaysDOT certification required or willingness to obtain (certification fees covered)Preferred QualificationsPrevious urgent care, emergency medicine, or fast-track experienceStrong procedural skills, including suturing, splinting, and wound careExperience with initial X-ray interpretation prior to radiology over-readAbout NextCareNextCare is one of the nation's largest urgent care providers, serving communities with accessible, affordable, high-quality healthcare across more than 160 locations in 11 states.
