Advanced Practice Provider (NP/PA) – Addiction Services & Ambulatory Program (ASAP)The University of New Mexico Hospital's Addiction Services and Ambulatory Program (ASAP) is seeking a compassionate and motivated Advanced Practice Provider (Nurse Practitioner preferred) to provide high-quality outpatient care to adults with substance use disorders and co-occurring behavioral health conditions. This position offers the opportunity to make a meaningful impact on the lives of individuals in recovery while working alongside an interdisciplinary team committed to evidence-based addiction treatment and patient-centered care.Position SummaryThe Advanced Practice Provider will deliver comprehensive addiction and behavioral health services for adult patients in an outpatient clinic and walk-in care setting. Responsibilities include conducting assessments, developing treatment plans, managing medications, providing follow-up care, and coordinating services that support recovery and long-term wellness.Schedule0.75 FTE Three (3) 10-hour shifts per week Day shift schedule No call responsibilitiesPrimary ResponsibilitiesPerform comprehensive psychiatric and substance use evaluations for adult patients Diagnose and treat substance use disorders and co-occurring mental health conditions Provide medication management, including medications for addiction treatment (MAT) Develop individualized treatment plans in collaboration with patients and the care team Monitor treatment progress and adjust care plans as clinically indicated Coordinate care with therapists, case managers, social workers, primary care providers, and community resources Document patient encounters in accordance with regulatory and organizational requirements Participate in quality improvement and patient safety initiativesQualificationsEducation: Essential: Program Graduate Education specialization: Advanced Nurse or Clinical Nurse SpecExperience: Essential: 1 year psychiatric experience Nonessential: Bilingual English/Spanish Specialization in applicable areaCredentials: Essential: CPR for Healthcare/BLS Prov or Prof Rescuers w/in 30 days NM Advanced Practice Nurse License (CNP, CNS, CRNA) ACLS or PALS (as applicable) within 30 days of hirePhysical Conditions: Medium Work: Exerting 20 to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or 10 to 25 pounds of force frequently, and/or greater than negligible up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects.
