Residence Hall Director

Wilkes University invites applicants for a Residence Hall Director in the Office of Residence Life. This full-time, live-in position supports the residential campus community by fostering student engagement, overseeing residential operations, and providing support and guidance to students living in University housing. Responsibilities Supervise approximately 15 Resident Assistants and support approximately 300–400 residential students. Oversee residential education programming. Enforce University policies. Assist with facilities management. Conduct student follow-ups and referrals. Participate in the Residence Life on-call rotation. Support ongoing departmental initiatives. Assist with Resident Assistant training and in-services. Coordinate break housing. Monitor residence life communications. Support non-traditional student residency groups. Assist with New Student Orientation. Serve as a hearing officer for student conduct matters. Support Student Government initiatives. Qualifications A bachelor's degree is required. The ideal candidate will have prior undergraduate Residence Life experience along with strong leadership, communication, organization, and interpersonal skills. Candidates should demonstrate the ability to work collaboratively with students and staff while maintaining a visible and approachable presence within the residential community. This is a full-time, live-in position requiring the selected candidate to reside in an assigned campus residence. Employment Requirements Employment at Wilkes is contingent upon the results of a thorough background screening. PA Act 153 requires that persons working in positions with regular and unsupervised contact with minors complete additional clearances, including FBI fingerprinting and PA criminal and child abuse clearances.
