- Provides age-specific care to patients from neonates through geriatrics.
- Performs MRI scans as directed by radiologist, and, once orientation and training are completed, independently conducts scans if ARRT-registered.

- Clear knowledge of modality specific equipment, computers, PACS, EMR and RIS.
- Uses a variety of equipment specific to the area, including MR scanners, power injectors, and various computers. Must demonstrate effective organizational, written, and oral communication skills. Must demonstrate excellent customer service skills. Ability to perform procedures specific to the area. Answers phones and arranges schedule for in-patient request Initiates and maintains positive relationships with patients/customers and coworkers
- Performs other duties as assigned.

- For specific duties and responsibilities, refer to documentation provided by the department during orientation.
- Must abide by all requirements to safely and securely maintain Protected Health Information (PHI) for our patients. Annual training, the UH Code of Conduct and UH policies and procedures are in place to address appropriate use of PHI in the workplace.
E ducation Qualifications
- Must meet one of the following educational pathways
- Pathway 1 (ARRT Pathway): Associate's Degree with completion of an accredited 2 - year Radiologic or Nuclear Medicine Technology program. (Required) or
- Pathway 2 (MRI/ARDMS/NMTCB Pathway): Associate's Degree with completion of a primary track in MRI, Nuclear Medicine, or Sonography. (Required)
- MR scanning experience. (Preferred) and
- Knowledge of sterile and surgical procedures. (Required proficiency)
- Knowledge of MRI equipment and safety in MRI environment . (Required proficiency)
- Knowledge of radiology information system . (Required proficiency)
- Basic knowledge of oxygen tanks, suction machine and emergency equipment. (Required proficiency)
- Any of the following: Registered Technologist Radiology (ARRT-R), Certified Nuclear Medicine Technologist (CNMT), Registered Technologist Radiation Therapy (ARRT-T), Registered ARDMS (American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonography) OR ARRT-MR Registry-eligible. (Required Upon Hire) and
- Must meet one of the following post-hire certification pathways.
- Pathway 1 (ARRT Pathway): Registered Technologist MRI (ARRT-MR) or American Registry of MRI Technologists (ARMRIT) (Required within 2 Years) And meets educational ARRT pathway requirements upon hire or
- Pathway 2 (MRI/ARDMS/NMTCB Pathway): ARDMS or NMTCB registration (Upon Hire) AND Registered Technologist MRI (ARRT-MR) or American Registry of MRI Technologists (ARMRIT) (Required Within 6 Months of hire or transfer) and meets education MRI/ARDMS/NMTCB pathway requirements upon hire. and
- Basic Life Support (BLS) (Required Upon Hire) and
- Ohio radiologic license is not required for MRI-only practice.
