Production Technician

Production Packaging and Forklift Operator

This role focuses on preparing outbound shipments by packaging and palletizing materials, then safely transporting them with a forklift for loading onto trucks. You will work as part of a packaging team in a manufacturing environment, handle physical tasks including lifting up to 50 lbs, and use a computer system to document orders and production activities.

Responsibilities

• Prepare outbound shipments by packaging and palletizing materials according to customer and internal specifications.
• Operate plant forklifts safely to move materials from the production area to the warehouse and loading areas.
• Load palletized materials onto trucks and transport materials outside the facility as needed.
• Work as part of the packaging team to prepare customer orders, including filling and sealing 50-pound bags, bulk sacks, and drums.
• Apply labels accurately to all packaged orders to ensure correct identification and traceability.
• Shrink wrap orders to secure products on pallets for safe storage and transportation.
• Move products efficiently around the packing floor and to the warehouse using a forklift and other material-handling equipment.
• Perform general production and warehouse duties such as picking, packing, and assisting on the packaging line as required.
• Maintain a clean and orderly production floor by sweeping and cleaning designated areas.
• Complete packaging log sheets and related paperwork accurately and in a timely manner.
• Use computer systems, including Microsoft Outlook, Excel, Word, and Access, to document production data and shipment information.
• Participate in all Health, Safety, and Environmental activities, including monthly plant audits, accident investigations, and hazard identification.
• Follow all safety procedures and guidelines while working in the manufacturing and cleanroom areas as required.

Essential Skills

• Prior job experience in a manufacturing environment.
• Prior forklift operational experience in a production or warehouse setting.
• Ability to safely operate plant forklifts in support of production and packaging activities.
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds on a regular basis.
• Proficiency with computers and experience using Microsoft Outlook, Excel, Word, and Access.
• Experience with packaging and general production tasks such as packing, labeling, and working on a packaging line.
• Ability to follow written and verbal instructions and complete required documentation accurately.
• Strong attention to safety and willingness to participate in Health, Safety, and Environmental programs.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Experience working in a warehouse, general production, or cleanroom environment.
• Experience in packaging, picking, labeling, and general labor within a manufacturing facility.
• Comfort working with packaging lines and handling materials such as bags, bulk sacks, and drums.
• Strong teamwork skills and the ability to collaborate effectively with a packaging and production team.
• Good organizational skills and attention to detail when preparing customer orders and completing paperwork.

Work Environment

You will work in a glass bead manufacturing facility that includes production, packaging, and warehouse areas. The environment involves active production floors, packaging lines, and forklift traffic, requiring consistent attention to safety procedures. The role is hands-on and physically active, including lifting up to 50 pounds, moving pallets, and working around packaging equipment. You may work in cleanroom or controlled areas as needed, and you will use forklifts, pallet jacks, and computer systems as part of daily activities. Expect a structured industrial setting with a focus on cleanliness, organization, and safe material handling throughout the facility.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Canby, OR.

The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $20.00/hr.
