This position will perform accounting activities and serve as an integral part of the Corporate Accounting Team of a multi-unit restaurant and real estate company. The Accountant is responsible for delivering reliable financial data and maintaining accuracy and compliance with accounting standards while tracking the organization’s performance through detailed records and reports. This position works closely with a team in a fast-paced, dynamic environment, is willing to assist as needed, and ensures the accuracy and integrity of the work performed. The Accountant must perform their role with a high degree of proficiency and professionalism and demonstrate these standards in their daily work and interactions with all as a representative of the Corporate Accounting department.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

• Review and approve daily sales reporting utilizing Restaurant 365.
• Maintain daily sales flash for management reporting.
• Reconcile balance sheet general ledger accounts and bank accounts.
• Prepare journal entries for the month-end close.
• Maintain sales tax return support and prepare monthly returns.
• Gain understanding of business processes and operations to support multi-unit administration and management.
• Support the Accounting management in providing leadership and guidance in matters relating to the financial performance of the enterprise.

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Must embody the company's mission and values of Integrity, Hospitality, Excellence, and Service, and work at a high level of professionalism.
• Must have a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting.
• Superior verbal and written communication skills; Bilingual Spanish desired.
• Minimum of 2 years of recent experience in an accounting department, preferably in a hospitality or retail environment.
• Proactive, proficient, with exceptional organizational skills and focus.
• Strong attention to detail and excellent time management ability.
• Ability to take initiative and use independent, sound judgment.
• Effective collaboration skills; highly functional in a team environment.
• Analytical, and the ability to prioritize and manage multiple projects and deadlines.
• Strong technical propensity for computer technology, advanced Excel, ERP systems, and Restaurant365 are highly desired.
• Discretion in handling all business, financial, and proprietary information.
• Solid knowledge of accounting principles; ability to read and interpret financial data and reconcile general ledger accounts.
• Must be able to lift and move 20lbs, navigate stairs, and sit for extended periods.
