Level II Registered Nurse – Medical Surgical Float

Schedule / Job Type

Contract | Rotating Shifts (Days, Evenings, and Nights) | Every Other Weekend | Holidays, On-Call, Callback, and Charge as needed per unit | No straight shift schedules available

Key Responsibilities

• Provide competent, patient-centered care in a Medical Surgical float capacity in accordance with established clinical standards
• Assume an expanded role including charge nurse responsibilities as determined by unit needs
• Serve as a preceptor for new or less experienced nursing staff when required
• Participate in committee membership and contribute to professional development initiatives
• Integrate evidence-based practice and research into daily clinical care delivery
• Uphold service excellence standards under the direction of the Nurse Manager

Required Qualifications

• Active New York State Registered Nurse (RN) license – NY license required
• Minimum of two (2) years of nursing experience
• Telemetry experience required
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through the American Heart Association (AHA) only

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Prior experience in a float pool or multi-unit nursing environment
• Previous charge nurse or preceptor experience
