Role: Costing Engineer
Location: Fond du Lac, WI Onsite
Job Summary
Seeking a Costing Engineer to support new product development and cost reduction initiatives. The role will develop should-cost models, DFM/DFA analysis, VA/VE opportunities, and cost targets for mechanical and electrical components.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop cost targets for castings, stampings, extrusions, injection-molded parts, harnesses, PCBs, motors, and batteries .
- Perform should-cost analysis, benchmarking, and teardown analysis for supplier negotiations.
- Apply DFM/DFA, VA/VE, and Design-to-Target methodologies.
- Review CAD models, engineering drawings, BOMs, and manufacturing processes.
- Identify cost-reduction opportunities for new and existing products.
- Provide monthly cost tracking, project updates, risks, and opportunities to management.
- Collaborate with Engineering, Procurement, Manufacturing, Finance, and other teams.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Manufacturing, Industrial, or Electrical Engineering .
- 7 10 years of relevant industry experience .
- Experience with BDI, A-priori, or similar costing software .
- Strong understanding of manufacturing drawings, BOMs, and 3D CAD ; Creo preferred.
- Hands-on experience with VA/VE and should-cost analysis .
- Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office.
Preferred
- Manufacturing experience with casting, stamping, injection molding, extrusion, and PCBA .
- Lean Six Sigma Green Belt preferred.
- Background in automotive, powersports, marine, engine/powertrain, Tier-1 suppliers, or industrial manufacturing .
