NPI Test Process Development Engineer

Opportunity Teradyne’s Semiconductor Test Division develops the world’s leading equipment for testing electronics. The Operations New Product Introduction Group is looking for a dynamic Process Engineer to develop PCBA Structural test solutions. The role focuses on designing, developing, and implementing test strategies for printed circuit board products, ensuring quality and reliability across production gates. Key Responsibilities Integrate with Hardware Development groups to develop structural test strategies for printed circuit boards at each quality gate, including flying probe and in‑circuit test platforms. Collaborate with functional groups (SW/HW/Pilot Lines/Operations) on PCB, higher‑level assembly, and system‑level test planning and execution. Influence PCB component selection, schematic, and physical layout processes to meet product quality and validation objectives. Drive contract manufacturing processes for Flying Probe and ICT development, including fixture and program development, quoting, scheduling, documentation, validation, and release to production. Innovate methods to improve quality gate processes, efficiencies, and best practices. Qualifications Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering (Manufacturing, Mechanical, or Electronics preferred). ≥ 2 years of PCB assembly testing experience. Proficiency with In‑Circuit Test development on platforms such as Teradyne Test Station or equivalent. Experience with ICT fixture development and fabrication. Knowledge of measurement techniques and process controls for yield analysis, including CP/CPK statistics and normal distributions, is a plus. Experience with PC layout/design review software (Cadence Allegro, Valor); EMS/CM supplier collaboration desirable. Experience with scripting languages (Perl, Python, etc.) or Visual Basic/C# .NET is a plus. Able to travel ~10 %; periodic calls with Asian teams and suppliers. Compensation Base salary range: $76,600 – $122,500 (adjusted for experience and skill set; may vary by demand and location). Incentive Plan Eligible for discretionary bonus(es) based on financial performance.
