Bachelor's or Master's degree in Special Education, active Special Education Teacher license and minimum 1+ years Special Education Teacher experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.
Embark on a rewarding contract position in special education serving kindergarten and first-grade students at the elementary level. This full-time opportunity runs from August 13, 2026, through June 3, 2027. You'll make a meaningful impact supporting learners with moderate to severe needs in a supportive and dynamic school environment.
Qualifications:
- Valid California education specialist credential (Moderate/Severe or ESN), or in process of obtaining
- Previous experience working with elementary-aged students with moderate to severe disabilities preferred
- Strong communication skills and the ability to collaborate with multidisciplinary teams
- Dedication to creating inclusive, structured learning environments
- Passion for individualized student growth and academic achievement
Responsibilities:
- Develop and deliver individualized educational plans (IEPs) for students with moderate to severe disabilities in kindergarten and first grade
- Adapt curriculum and instructional strategies to meet each student’s functional and academic needs
- Implement evidence-based classroom management techniques and positive behavior supports
- Work collaboratively with general education teachers, paraprofessionals, related service providers, and families
- Maintain compliance with IDEA regulations and all district guidelines
- Collect data, document student progress, and participate in IEP meetings and scheduled professional development
