Bachelor's or Master's degree in Special Education, active Special Education Teacher license and minimum 1+ years Special Education Teacher experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.
Spindle is partnering with a school district to hire an Education Specialist focused on Moderate to Severe Support Needs for secondary students in grades 6–8 for next school year.
Key Responsibilities:
Provide specialized academic instruction and social-emotional support in a structured setting for students with emotional and behavioral needs
Implement trauma-informed, restorative, and positive behavioral intervention and support (PBIS) practices
Develop, implement, and monitor IEPs with goals addressing both academic performance and social-emotional behavior targets
Collaborate with school psychologists, counselors, and mental health partners to coordinate wraparound student support
Track student progress toward academic, behavioral, and social-emotional goals and adjust programming accordingly
Qualifications:
California Education Specialist Credential – Education Specialist Bridge - Moderate Support Needs
Experience working with students with emotional and behavioral disabilities in a secondary setting preferred
Strong trauma-informed practice knowledge, crisis de-escalation skills, and interdisciplinary collaboration abilities
