Job Description
Registered Nurse - Labor and Delivery

Schedule

Shift hours: 7a-7p or 7p-7a; Contract length: 13 weeks; Weekend requirement: Every other weekend; Holiday requirement: Must be available to work every other holiday, if needed.

Assignment Details

On Call Requirement: None; RTO, Block & Special Scheduling Requests: Must submit requests upon submission; Call off Policy: The client may cancel up to three shifts during a 13-week contract period without incurring charges for the canceled hours.

Requirements

• Active New York Single State RN license required (pending license not accepted).
• Certifications: OB-ACLS or ACLS, BLS, EFM certification, NRP.
• Epic experience required; Non-Epic experience with CPN/GE Centricity is acceptable.
• Clinical skills: Assist with vaginal deliveries, circulate for C-sections, recovery, magnesium sulfate therapy, Pitocin, foley catheter insertion, and postpartum hemorrhage management.
• Experience with APGAR scores, NST, EFM, and IUPC placement and calibration.

Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive nursing care to patients in labor and delivery.
• Monitor and assess maternal and fetal well-being during prenatal, delivery, and postpartum periods.
• Assist with the delivery of newborns, including immediate post-delivery care.
• Educate and support patients and families regarding pregnancy, labor, and postpartum care.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure quality patient outcomes.
