Water/Wastewater Treatment Engineer

The Opportunity Tetra Tech is adding a Water/Wastewater Treatment Engineer to our team based in Houston, TX. Position Summary We are seeking a motivated Engineer to assist in growing Tetra Tech's Texas engineering business. Candidate will provide support for the project tasks involving engineering design, permitting, and support aspects of engineering projects. Candidate must be highly motivated and work well in a professional and team-oriented environment. Candidate must also have the ability to manage a heavy workload, travel as needed, and possess excellent communication and organizational skills. Proficiency with MS Office applications is a requirement. Essential Job Functions Perform project tasks for public and private sector clients, including contact with client representatives. Coordinate with project team personnel and perform technical functions on engineering and construction projects. Prepare feasibility and engineering reports, permit applications, construction specifications, engineering cost estimates, and construction drawings. Assist in preparing proposals, subcontract specifications, and work plans. Participate in technical and business development presentations with clients. Perform additional duties as assigned by the supervisor based on level of experience. Required Qualifications Bachelor's Degree (B.S.) or Master's Degree (M.S.) in Civil, Process, Chemical, Environmental Engineering, or a related field. Engineer-in-Training certificate preferred. 2–3 years of experience with design of water & wastewater projects. Ability to write detailed reports, business correspondence, and procedures suitable for client submittal. Effective presentation and communication skills, able to respond to questions from coworkers, clients, and the public. Comfortable with basic engineering and mathematical concepts and principles. Ability to apply engineering and mathematical concepts to practical situations. Ability to work effectively with other technical professionals. Ability to interpret and follow a variety of instructions delivered in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form. Physical Requirements The applicant is regularly required to talk or hear, stand, walk, sit, use hands to finger, handle, or feel, and reach with hands and arms. The applicant is occasionally required to climb or balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl, and sniff. The applicant must regularly lift and move up to 25 pounds and occasionally lift and move up to 50 pounds. Vision requirements include close, distance, color, peripheral, and depth perception and the ability to adjust focus. Work Environment / Environmental Factors The applicant must work in an office and perform field work when needed. In the field, the applicant may be exposed to moving mechanical parts, outside weather, wet or humid conditions, fumes, airborne particles, toxic or caustic chemicals, and vibration. Noise levels are usually moderate. Additional Information Employment Type: Full-Time. Work Schedule: Standard business hours, Monday through Friday; occasional extended hours or overtime may be required. Reporting: The position reports to the manager located in Houston, TX.
