Certified Surg Tech - Travel Job

Overview Jackson HealthPros is seeking an experienced Certified Surgical Technologist to expertly assist physicians and nurses in the operating room during surgical procedures, ensuring the safety and well‑being of patients by preparing the operating room, sterilizing equipment, and providing support to the surgical team. Responsibilities Assist in all phases of surgical procedures, including setup, equipment sterilization, and intra‑operative support. Scrub cranial procedures and manage neuro/trauma cases as required. Operate and support robotics and navigation systems such as DaVinci, Mako, Stealth, and Scopis. Chart in EPIC and maintain accurate operative records. Stand by for call shifts, weeknight call, and 24‑hour weekend call as scheduled. Comply with facility fingernail policy and all infection control standards. Qualifications Current certification from a program accredited by the National Board of Surgical Technology and Surgical Assisting (NBSTSA) preferred; CST credential preferred but not required. BLS Certification required. Minimum 2 years of experience as a certified OR Tech / Surgical Technologist in a surgical environment; orthopedic total joint and orthopedic trauma experience required. Proficiency in neuro/trauma call responsibilities, meeting senior‑level competency standards. Experience with robotics and navigation systems preferred. Experience charting in EPIC preferred. Assignment Details Facility Type: Hospital (Operating Room, multiple suites) Unit: Operating Room – approximately 11 rooms, average of 18 cases per day. Shift: Days, 5×8‑hour shifts (8‑ or 10‑hour). Call weeks include one weeknight per week (end of shift until 07:00 next morning) and three weekend days per month, including 24‑hour shifts. Case Mix: Orthopedics (total and trauma), urology, ENT, neuro (backs, crani), with some pediatric cases for RNs only. Required Certifications: BLS. CST credential preferred but not required. EMR / Charting System: EPIC. Orientation: 12 departmental hours plus one week of unit‑specific orientation. Floating: Not required. Call Response Time: 15 minutes.
