Behavioral Direct Care Worker II – Evaluation & Stabilization Program (2600000Y) Open continuous posting for full-time and part-time positions at the Wrentham Developmental Center in the Southeast Region, Massachusetts. Job Responsibilities Act as an advocate for individuals with developmental disabilities, demonstrating respect and positive regard. Provide support to individuals on the behavioral unit who exhibit challenging and extreme behaviors. Monitor the health and safety of individuals, adhere to rules and regulations, and communicate health concerns to nursing and supervising staff. Complete daily reports and document incidents that occur during the shift. Special Requirements Applicants must successfully complete the Proactive Approaches to Behavioral Challenges (PABC) program within 6 months of assignment. Candidates unable to complete the training will be ineligible. Current employees in the same title are required to participate in the interview process. Preferred Qualifications Certified PABC or PABC trainer. Experience working with challenging behaviors. Knowledge of PBS and implementation across settings. Capacity to remain calm in a high‑stress environment. Excellent time‑management and communication skills. Ability to maintain respectful, caring, tolerant, ethical, and empowering relationships with staff and residents. Professional communication skills and support for others. Ability to interface appropriately with staff and supervisors. Willingness to debrief staff after stressful situations. Proficiency with Microsoft operating systems. Leadership and direction for direct care staff and ability to respond to emerging situations. Capability to assist or lift individuals with physical disabilities or limited mobility. Proficiency in reading, transcribing, and comprehending the English language. Team‑building and collaborative skills. Agency Requirements Current and valid Class D Motor Vehicle Operator’s License. Upon completion of the Medication Administration Program (MAP), MAP certification must be obtained and maintained. CPR and First Aid certification must be obtained and maintained upon completion of training. Additional Information The position is a 24‑hour/7‑day daily availability role that may require weekend work with two days off in the middle of the week. Overtime may be required. This is an emergency position; reporting to work is required during state emergencies. All employees are paid bi‑weekly and must have direct deposit.
