Team Leader, T&D Operations Substation Training

The AES Corporation is seeking a Training Specialist for Transmission and Distribution to develop, deliver, and maintain training programs for Substation Mechanics and related teams. Key Responsibilities Assist in the development, organization, and facilitation of skills training for field personnel within the Transmission and Distribution Organization. Prepare and conduct field training exercises; evaluate and document training progress for each Substation Mechanic. Develop performance‑based technical skills training courses and conduct new methods training as required. Act as a training resource for other Transmission and Distribution departments upon request. Prepare audiovisual materials for safety and skills training, conduct job safety analyses and audits, and conduct safety walks and learning opportunities. Review existing safety rules and recommend updates or improvements; attend Substation Mechanic safety council meetings; comply with all applicable Company safety policies, OSHA regulations, and professional standards. Facilitate the Substation Mechanic Joint Apprenticeship Committee, evaluate apprentice applicants, conduct written and physical testing, and manage apprenticeship training data entry. Conduct compliance and refresher training for the Substation Mechanic Department and other departments; assist in scheduling training; perform training data entry; write and review task procedures. Facilitate company‑wide meetings, maintain industry knowledge, participate in call‑in duty, respond to substation/network operations and storm outages, and perform any other duties as assigned.
