Manufacturing Team Leads are responsible for supporting operations within one of our key production areas, including Extrusion, Press, Slitting, and Converting. This is a hands-on leadership role responsible for coordinating daily production activities, supporting team development, driving safety and quality performance, and ensuring department goals are achieved. The Manufacturing Team Lead works closely with operators, supervisors, maintenance, planning, quality, and other support teams to maximize production performance while fostering a high-performance culture.What You'll DoAct as a safety leader and promote a safety-first culture in all activitiesDirect and coordinate day-to-day production activities based on customer demand and production schedulesSupport operators and production teams to ensure safe, efficient, and high-quality productionProvide coverage and hands-on support across manufacturing operations as neededCollaborate with Production Planning, Quality, Maintenance, and Operations teams to prioritize work and meet customer requirementsAssist supervisors with administering policies, resolving employee concerns, and supporting positive employee relationsProvide coaching, instruction, and on-the-job training to team membersSupport employee development and help build technical capabilities across the departmentMonitor production performance and communicate results through standard work and shift communication processesAssist with investigations involving safety incidents, near misses, and quality concerns while supporting root cause corrective actionsPartner with Quality teams to resolve product defects, customer complaints, and process issuesPartner with Maintenance teams to reduce downtime and improve equipment reliabilityLead and participate in continuous improvement initiatives focused on safety, quality, productivity, and costSupport shift handoff communication to ensure operational continuity across crewsAnalyze production challenges and implement corrective actions to improve resultsEnsure compliance with all product safety, food safety, cleanliness, and operational standardsMaintain accurate production, quality, and operational documentationServe as a backup resource for supervisors as neededDrive accountability while promoting teamwork, collaboration, and a positive workplace culturePerform additional duties as assignedMust HaveHigh school diploma or GED3-5 years of manufacturing experiencePrevious leadership experience or demonstrated ability to lead, coach, and develop teamsStrong commitment to safety, quality, and continuous improvementExcellent verbal and written communication skillsAbility to effectively prioritize work and manage multiple responsibilities in a fast-paced manufacturing environmentStrong problem-solving and decision-making skillsAbility to work independently and collaboratively while maintaining a positive attitudeProficiency with computer systems and basic Microsoft Office applicationsAbility to support and coordinate production activities across multiple departmentsPreferredExperience in a manufacturing lead, team lead, or frontline leadership roleExperience supporting employee training and development programsWorking knowledge of SAP, AIMS, RF systems, ColorCert, or similar manufacturing systemsExperience in printing, extrusion, slitting, converting, packaging, or flexible packaging manufacturing environmentsStrong mechanical aptitude and equipment troubleshooting experienceLean Manufacturing, Continuous Improvement, or Operational Excellence experienceExperience analyzing production metrics and driving performance improvementsJoin AmcorAt Amcor, we are committed to creating a safer, more sustainable future through innovation, teamwork, and operational excellence.
