Server Administrator II Enterprise Systems (Anaheim, CA)

Salary Grade: 160N Salary Pay Range for This Position: $48.50 - $72.77 Position Summary The Server Administrator II will provide high‑level planning and coordination for the development and implementation of all aspects of member‑facing systems, ensuring operational procedures, communication across departments, and secure, maintained computing environments. Key responsibilities include technical support, design, installation, configuration, maintenance, and integration of systems; execution of projects advancing technology across member‑facing channels; alignment with the Wescom IT technology initiative; and support of Genesys audio servers and contact center applications. Additional duties involve configuring F5 load balancer servers, redesigning the Wescom Mobile application, improving recovery strategies for online banking, and performing recovery procedures between Wescom Primary and disaster recovery datacenters. The role supports technologies primarily in Microsoft Server environments, Active Directory, Exchange, Office 365, VMware, Hyper‑V, SQL, web and email filtering systems, enterprise endpoint protection, and F5 Load Balancer. It also extends Wescom’s technologies, modernizes IT infrastructures, and leverages Amazon, Azure, and other cloud hosting solutions. Direct reporting is to the Director of Production Systems. Essential Position Functions Design, install, configure, and deploy internal and member‑facing servers across Development, Staging, Production, and Disaster Recovery infrastructures. Proactively manage and maintain server and F5 Load Balancer systems. Administer and support Microsoft Server OS, VMware ESXi, resource pools, and storage architecture technologies. Register domain names, purchase and maintain SSL certificates. Develop and implement project plans, risk assessments, and contingency plans. Design and implement monitoring, configuration management, and reporting functions. Define and document best practices and support procedures. Provide after‑hours support for infrastructure emergencies on a rotational basis. Maintain inventory and asset configuration documentation. Assist with hardware, firewall, telecom, IT DevOps, and software vendor evaluations, recommendations, and negotiations. Mentor and cross‑train team members on existing and innovative technologies. Conduct special tasks at management's direction. Interact with users and vendors at the technical level as required. Provide routine data backup and recovery support. Participate in system hardware migration and upgrade projects. Support servers across multiple data centers. Plan changes to servers to eliminate potential problems or resolve current issues. Act as an escalation point for server software and hardware break/fix, engaging with vendors and application support teams. Perform other duties as assigned. Other Position Responsibilities and Duties Support existing clients in identifying and resolving medium to highly complex production issues. Effectively communicate project expectations and status to all team members and stakeholders, including business representatives, partners, clients, and implementation teams. Participate in and occasionally lead scheduled team meetings to identify installation issues and guide problem resolution. Education, Experience, Skills and Abilities High school education and at least three years of firsthand server administration experience. Knowledge of fundamentals of network security. Familiarity with TCP/IP networking and general network troubleshooting skills. Good written and verbal communication skills, including technical writing. Demonstrated mature and experienced attitude toward administering server environments, balancing departmental goals with customer service priorities. Ability to plan and schedule tasks and projects efficiently. Computer Skills Proficient in Microsoft applications (Word, Excel, Outlook). Mathematical Skills Ability to perform basic arithmetic, compute rates, ratios, percentages, and interpret bar graphs. Physical Demands Frequent standing, walking, sitting, handling, reaching, climbing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, and occasional lifting or moving up to 10 pounds.
