Lead Scheduler

HK Solutions Group is seeking a Lead Scheduler to join our team. This position can be based in one HK's office locations, or remotely. The Lead Scheduler owns the master resource schedule for crews, equipment, and projects across all service lines, including sewer cleaning and CCTV inspection, CIPP rehabilitation, manhole rehabilitation, and industrial tank cleaning. This position is the central coordination point between sales, estimating, project management, and field operations. The Lead Scheduler sequences work to maximize crew and equipment utilization while meeting contractual dates, customer service windows, and municipal restrictions.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

• Build and maintain the master production schedule across all service lines at daily, weekly, and monthly horizons.
• Assign crews and specialty equipment to projects based on scope, certification, capability, and geography, including combination trucks, jetters, CCTV vans, wet-out and refrigerated trailers, UV curing units, boilers, vacuum trucks, and bypass pumping equipment.
• Lead weekly scheduling and look-ahead meetings with operations leadership and project managers; publish and maintain a rolling three-week look-ahead.
• Monitor crew utilization, backlog, travel and per diem exposure, and production rates; identify conflicts, gaps, and over-commitments early and propose solutions.
• Sequence work around field constraints such as flow conditions, weather, seasonal and frost restrictions, permitted work hours, school and event calendars, and municipal moratoriums.
• Coordinate mobilization logistics including lodging, equipment transport, permits, and delivery of liner, resin, and coating materials.
• Rebuild the schedule as conditions change due to equipment breakdowns, weather delays, emergency callouts, or customer-driven changes, and communicate revisions promptly to all affected parties.
• Coordinate with the shop and fleet team on preventive maintenance and equipment downtime windows so that scheduled service does not conflict with committed work.
• Partner with human resources and recruiting to communicate staffing needs, and with estimating to confirm capacity for upcoming bids and pending awards.
• Maintain and report scheduling metrics such as crew utilization, schedule adherence, on-time start percentage, and callback or rework rate.
• Serve as system owner for the scheduling platform, driving adoption, data accuracy, and process improvement.
  

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

• Five or more years of scheduling, dispatching, or operations coordination experience in construction, utility, or field services.
• Demonstrated ability to manage competing priorities across multiple crews, projects, and stakeholders.
• Advanced Excel skills and experience working within a scheduling, dispatch, or ERP platform.
• Experience with Primavera and cost-loaded schedules
• Strong verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to hold firm on schedule commitments with internal and external stakeholders.
• Highly organized with strong attention to detail and the ability to re-prioritize quickly under pressure.
• High school diploma or GED required.
  

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

• Associate's or bachelor's degree in construction management, business, supply chain, or a related field.
• Experience scheduling multi-crew, multi-state field operations.
• Familiarity with underground utility work, pipeline rehabilitation, CIPP, or industrial cleaning services.
• Experience with HCSS, Viewpoint Vista, Procore, Primavera, Assignar, or comparable resource scheduling tools.
• Working knowledge of DOT hours of service rules and CDL requirements.
• Bilingual English/Spanish.

TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS

Approximately 10-15% travel for periodic visits to branch locations and active job sites. Must be available by phone outside of standard business hours to respond to emergency callouts and urgent schedule changes.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

This position is primarily office based and requires extended periods of sitting and computer and telephone use. Occasional job site visits require walking on uneven terrain in varying weather conditions and wearing required PPE including hard hat, safety glasses, high-visibility clothing, and steel-toe footwear. Must be able to lift and carry up to 25 pounds.
