Senior Payroll Processor

Summary: Process payroll transactions. Perform data entry and accounting services. 5-7 years payroll processing experience required for the senior level. Payroll experience in a fast-paced, multi-state, demanding environment is needed. Comprehensive knowledge of wage and hour laws, garnishment laws, and taxability of wages.

Candidates must be located near our Minnetonka, MN office as the role is hybrid with 2 days a week in office.

Responsibilities may include:

• Lead daily, biweekly, and special payroll processes for multi-state payroll for Us non-exempt and exempt employees.
• Process payroll for up to 500* employees
• Reconcile payroll prior to transmission and validate confirmed reports.
• Maintain payroll control records
• Provide guidance to the team on payroll processing, tax laws, garnishments, system issues and general troubleshooting in payroll.
• Assist with mentoring of payroll specialists and as a backup for their duties.
• Work with the team to research and respond to escalated employee inquiries.
• Authorizes, reviews, and prepare complex payroll transactions.
• Assist with final payroll check calculation review
• Perform ad hoc projects as needed
• Assist in month/quarter/year-end close
• Completes verification of employment verifications, garnishments, and EDD notices as needed.
• Provide support to managers and employees with Workday's time tracking and absence modules
• Back up for payroll transmit.
• Exemplifies professionalism
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills and attention to detail

Knowledge and Skills to be successful:

• UKG- preferred
• Other large payroll processing platforms helpful
• Workday- preferred, not required
• High proficient in excel (V-lookups, pivot tables, and formulas)
• Ability to work in a fast paced and high volume environment.
• Associate degree- preferred

Position's Pay Range: $31.00-$36.00
