Ophthalmic Technician – Part‑Time (Tue‑Thu 8am‑5pm) Job Summary We seek a dedicated and detail‑oriented Ophthalmic Technician to provide exceptional patient care in an ophthalmology setting. The role supports ophthalmologists with clinical tasks and ensures patients receive the highest standard of service and care. Minimum Qualifications Previous experience working in an ophthalmology practice or eye clinic. Preferred: two‑year college degree. Preferred: Certification as an Ophthalmic Technician. Responsibilities Assist ophthalmologists with clinical surgery procedures, treatments, and outpatient surgical procedures. Prepare patients for exams, routine procedures, and outpatient surgical procedures. Take patient medical histories, documenting ocular, medical, and family history. Instruct patients regarding medications, tests, and procedures. Perform screening and diagnostic testing and assessments under the direction of the ophthalmologists. Clean and maintain ophthalmic instruments and equipment. Sterilize surgical instruments for procedures. Ensure patient comfort and safety during procedures. Knowledge, Abilities, and Skills Proficient in performing diagnostic tests and using ophthalmic equipment. Knowledge of diagnostic ophthalmic equipment and clinical lab functions.
