- Conduct evaluations for various age groups, employing both standardized testing and observational methods.
- Design tailored treatment plans that encompass immediate objectives and address overarching communication, cognitive, or swallowing needs.
- Implement one-on-one speech therapy sessions targeting language, fluency, voice modulation, and swallowing capabilities.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, including physical and occupational therapists, nurses, physicians, family members, and caregivers to establish well-rounded care plans.
- Provide education for patients and their families to enhance therapy progress outside of clinical settings.
- Assist in occasional inpatient assessments and therapy, ensuring seamless care throughout the patient's recovery.
- Maintain accurate and timely documentation in accordance with state, federal, and organizational standards.
- Commit to professional growth by participating in ongoing education and collaboration with peers.
- Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited institution.
- Completion of an accredited Clinical Fellowship Year (CFY) if ASHA certification is pending.
- Current state licensure as a Speech Language Pathologist .
- ASHA's Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC-SLP) is preferred.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification must be obtained within 30 days of starting the position.
- Expertise in evidence-based approaches to treat speech, language, and swallowing disorders across all age groups.
- Exceptional interpersonal skills to effectively communicate with patients, families, and healthcare teams.
- Adeptness in adjusting therapy approaches to accommodate various cultural and language backgrounds.
- Strong clinical judgment paired with robust problem-solving skills.
