Accounts Receivable Specialist

Are you looking for an Accounts Receivable Specialist opportunity where no two days are exactly the same? A stable and growing distribution company in St. Louis, MO is adding an Accounts Receivable Specialist to its close-knit accounting team.
This is more than a traditional AR position. You'll work across billing, cash applications, collections, credit, and customer service while partnering with customers and internal departments to keep operations running smoothly. If you enjoy variety, taking ownership of your work, and working with a small, friendly team, we'd love to hear from you. What You'll Do- Process customer invoices by reviewing shipping documents, freight charges, and billing information for accuracy.
- Apply customer payments, reconcile daily cash activity, and maintain accurate accounts receivable records.
- Communicate with customers regarding invoices, payments, account balances, and billing questions while delivering exceptional customer service.
- Monitor past due accounts and follow up on outstanding balances through phone, email, and customer portals.
- Review credit applications, maintain customer accounts, and assist with credit approvals and order releases.
- Research and resolve billing discrepancies by partnering with customers and internal teams.
- Support the accounting department with additional projects as the company continues to grow.
- 2+ years of Accounts Receivable, billing, or cash application experience.
- Intermediate Excel skills, including Pivot Tables and VLOOKUP.
- Strong Microsoft Office skills.
- Excellent communication and customer service skills.
- Highly organized with strong attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple priorities.
