Accounts Receivable Specialist

About the Role Sunset Transportation is seeking an Accounts Receivable Specialist to join our accounting team in St. Louis, MO. In this role, you'll support the daily financial operations of a fast-paced third-party logistics company by ensuring customer payments are processed accurately, financial records remain up to date, and billing activities run smoothly. You'll work closely with our accounting, credit, and collections teams while gaining valuable hands-on experience in accounts receivable, cash applications, banking processes, and financial systems. This position is ideal for someone who enjoys working with numbers, solving problems, and contributing to a team-focused environment. What You’ll Do: Post customer payments, ACH transactions, and cash receipts accurately within our financial systems. Process remote deposits and maintain accurate financial records and documentation. Review and audit billing information to ensure accuracy and completeness. Respond to payment status inquiries from internal teams, customers, and vendors. Investigate and resolve billing discrepancies, payment issues, and data inconsistencies. Support daily accounts receivable activities and contribute to process improvement initiatives. What We’re Looking For 1-2 years of experience in accounts receivable, billing, accounting support, or a related field; recent graduates are encouraged to apply. Strong Excel skills and comfort working with multiple systems and financial data. Exceptional attention to detail and a commitment to accuracy. Strong organizational, problem-solving, and multitasking abilities. Professional communication skills and a collaborative, team-first mindset.
