Together with our customers, we drive innovations that are imperative to advancing national security.The Aircraft Maintenance and Systems Technician will be responsible for fabrication, installation, maintenance, troubleshooting, repair and modifications on the carrier aircraft airframe and systems. The candidate should thrive in a high paced environment and be comfortable with the design, development, and test life cycle of rapid aerospace R&D. As Stratolaunch expands our program base this person may be tasked to other, new projects and in the development of vehicles requiring the skills, knowledge and abilities utilized on this current project.Essential ResponsibilitiesFabrication, installation, testing and maintenance of carrier aircraft systems and components including:Fuel systems and componentsHydraulic systems and componentsPneumatic systems and componentsElectrical systems and componentsEngine systems and componentsAirframe and aircraft structuresPerform scheduled and unscheduled maintenance operations on aircraft to include inspections, repairs, and troubleshooting activitiesConduct thorough inspections of aircraft systems, components, and structures to identify any issues or potential problemsIdentify and resolve mechanical problems based on visual inspections or reports from pilot or crewPerform all line maintenance functions to include preflight, post flight, launch, and recovery of aircraftEnsure proper and timely entry of maintenance performed in the Aircraft Maintenance Discrepancy Log (MDL)Operate all power tools and equipment necessary to accomplish job assignmentMaintain carrier aircraft in accordance with work instructions, the inspection plan and adhere to established standards such as AC 43-13, technical manuals, blueprints, or sketches for acceptable systems installation methods, techniques, and practicesOperate related ground handling equipment utilized to service the aircraftAble to work in confined spaces or heights greater than 25 feet as requiredAble to effectively communicate and partner with EngineeringQualifications2+ years' experience in aircraft systems troubleshooting, fabrication, installation and maintenance preferred, Including multiple of the following:Fuel systems and componentsHydraulic systems and componentsPneumatic systems and componentsElectrical systems and componentsEngine systems and componentsAirframe and aircraft structuresExperience with line maintenance functions to include preflight, post flight, launch, and recovery of aircraftExperience maintaining, replacing, or modifying large aircraft structure or sub-systems such as Sheetmetal experience; bending, riveting, fasteners, treatment of metal, or changing large LRU's & subs system components such as flight control systems, landing gear systems, pneumatic systems, etc.Strong understanding of the importance of FOD control and tool controlDetail oriented – strong attention to detailAbility to problem solve and adapt quickly to changing prioritiesAbility to work independently, responsible, take the initiativeAbility to obtain and maintain a DoD Secret security clearancePhysically able to handle items weighing up to 50 lbs.Other duties as determined/assigned by managementMust be willing to work a flexible work scheduleEducation & ExperienceLevel I ($29.30-$35.89): High school diploma or equivalency certificate and 2-5 years of experience in aircraft maintenance, systems fabrication, installationLevel II ($26.00-$46.42): High school diploma or equivalency certificate and 5-10 years of experience in aircraft maintenance, systems fabrication, installationA&P license (Preferred but not required)IA (Preferred but not required)Flight line or flight test experience (Preferred)Special Remarks Regarding Work Environment, If ApplicableThis position is located in Mojave, CAMust be able to work second shiftAbility to work weekends as needed#LI-OnsiteBase salary and leveling are established on a case-by-case basis.
