Vice President of Institutional Advancement About the Company . Industry Education Management Type Privately Held About the Role The Company is seeking a Vice President of Institutional Advancement (VPIA) to lead and manage a comprehensive fundraising program. The successful candidate will be an accomplished advancement professional with a strong background in major and principal gift fundraising, as well as a commitment to engaging with alumni and other key constituencies. The VPIA will be responsible for all aspects of advancement, including development, alumni affairs, and related events. This role involves working closely with the Executive Vice President and the Executive Director of Communications and Marketing to define the strategic direction of the philanthropic enterprise and ensure that the advancement department's work is aligned with the institution's education and research goals. Key responsibilities for the VPIA include leading and supporting the Institutional Advancement staff, planning and implementing aggressive fundraising programs, and coordinating efforts to increase support from various sources. The ideal candidate will have a Bachelor's degree, at least 15 years' experience in fundraising and alumni affairs, and a proven track record in major donor solicitation and campaign management. They should possess strong knowledge of donor research, cultivation, and stewardship, as well as experience in executing fundraising strategies and managing programs. The VPIA must be an excellent communicator, goal-oriented, and have superior interpersonal skills to interact effectively with a diverse range of stakeholders. Proficiency in Microsoft Office and fundraising software is required, along with the ability to maintain donor confidentiality and manage budgets for development efforts.
