Certified Medical Coding Specialist

As a Certified Medical Coding Specialist, the full-time remote position will interpret behavioral health documentation and coding results, provide actionable feedback to providers, and serve as a subject matter expert on coding and billing inquiries in a supportive environment. Key responsibilities Interpret behavioral health documentation and coding review results, translating them into clear provider education and feedback Determine the accuracy of flagged findings, confirming genuine errors and identifying incorrect flags for correction Answer provider and internal team questions on behavioral health coding and documentation, delivering clear and empathetic responses Required qualifications Certified Professional Coder (CPC) certification is required, along with 1-2 years of experience in outpatient or professional-services coding Strong grasp of ICD-10-CM, CPT, and HCPCS coding guidelines and documentation requirements Ability to independently reach correct coding conclusions and defend them against review results Experience in educating providers on medical decision making for outpatient Evaluation and Management services is preferred Tech-savvy and comfortable working in a fast-paced, digital environment
