Summary You will serve as a ENGINEERING TECHNICIAN in the NAVFAC MIDLANT, NORFOLK VA of NAVFAC ENGINEERING CMD MID-ATLANTIC. Responsibilities You will prepare indefinite quantity work statements for the government service provider. You will visit work sites to collect data pertaining to scope of work, determine the amount and type of labor and materials required. You will prepare contract modifications for firm fixed price contracts. You will anticipate any possible work-related problem in order to prepare FSC Tyle II construction and maintenance. Requirements Conditions of Employment Qualifications Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-09 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: 1) Interpreting engineering principals as related to various facility systems (electrical, HVAC, plumbing, etc./other facility related trade); 2) Utilizing math for computations involving analysis and estimates of facility projects; 3) Ability to make relevant assumptions in order to develop Rough Order Magnitude costs for a variety of projects; 4) Managing sustainment activities to keep facilities in good working order and to track subsequent projects throughout project life, this includes ability to prepare requirement packages; 5) Responsible for customer interface. while using strong computer skills Additional qualification information can be found from the following Office of Personnel Management web site: Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., professional, philanthropic, religious, spiritual, community, student, social).
