Welder/Fabricator

Responsible for repairs of both mobile and stationary equipment. Must be able to identify different metals for welding and have knowledge of mechanical repair on various pieces of equipment. Welder/Fabricator - What Will You Do? Perform welding and fabrication work on heavy equipment, machinery, components, and related structures. Fabricate, modify, and repair metal components using appropriate welding and cutting techniques. Perform MIG, TIG, and stick welding as required. Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, measurements, and specifications. Cut, bend, fit, grind, and prepare materials for welding and fabrication. Inspect completed welds and fabricated components to ensure quality and accuracy. Assist with the repair and modification of construction, aggregate, and heavy equipment. Operate welding, cutting, grinding, and other fabrication equipment safely and effectively. Identify worn or damaged components and assist with determining appropriate repairs. Perform measurements and layout work to ensure proper fit and alignment. Maintain welding and fabrication tools, equipment, and work areas. Follow all established safety procedures and use required personal protective equipment. Work collaboratively with mechanics and other Equipment Services coworkers to complete repairs and projects. Assist with other Equipment Services maintenance and repair needs as necessary. Perform other duties as assigned. Qualifications: High School Diploma or GED. Previous welding and fabrication experience required. Experience working with heavy equipment, construction equipment, or industrial machinery preferred. Proficiency with common welding and metal fabrication techniques. Must possess a valid Medical Examiner's Certificate (Med Card).
