Role Description The Cedar Ridge Counseling role is a full-time, on-site position based in the Washington DC-Baltimore area. The clinician will provide individual, couples, and family counseling, conduct mental health assessments, and develop evidence-informed treatment plans tailored to client needs. Day-to-day responsibilities include maintaining a caseload, documenting sessions in accordance with professional and organizational standards, coordinating care with other providers when appropriate, and participating in case consultation or supervision. The role also involves communicating clearly with clients about treatment goals, maintaining professional boundaries, and supporting a welcoming and inclusive environment in the office. Clinicians are expected to stay current with best practices in mental health, follow all applicable legal and ethical guidelines, and contribute positively to the broader Cedar Ridge Counseling team. Qualifications Licensure or license-eligible status as a mental health professional (e.g., LCPC, LCSW-C, LMFT, Psychologist) in the state of Maryland or the Washington DC-Baltimore area. Experience providing outpatient counseling or psychotherapy to diverse populations, with strong skills in assessment, diagnosis, and treatment planning. Knowledge of evidence-informed therapeutic approaches (for example, CBT, DBT, family systems, trauma-informed care) and the ability to tailor interventions to individual client needs. Strong interpersonal, communication, and active listening skills, with the ability to build rapport and maintain professional, ethical boundaries. Ability to manage a consistent caseload, complete timely and accurate clinical documentation, and follow organizational policies and procedures. Commitment to inclusive, non-discriminatory practice and comfort working with clients from varied cultural, socioeconomic, and identity backgrounds. Ability to work collaboratively with peers and supervisors, participate in consultations or team meetings, and seek feedback when needed. Master's or doctoral degree in counseling, social work, psychology, or a related mental health field. Familiarity with basic computer skills and electronic health record systems; willingness to learn new tools as required.
