Physical Therapist PT - Outpatient Ortho

About this Job MedStar Health is looking for a Physical Therapist to join our team at Therapy – Waugh Chapel! The ideal candidate will be a licensed physical therapist with professional competency as a general practitioner in physical therapy; demonstrated use of varied evaluation and treatment approaches; customer service skills for interacting with patients, including communicating with patients and family members of diverse ages and backgrounds; and effective communication. Primary Duties Provide evaluation services, including review of pertinent historical information, performance of specific assessments, determination of recommendations, and documentation of results. Explain evaluation findings and treatment plan to patient and family, incorporating them into goal setting. Demonstrate proficiency in implementing treatment protocols based on evaluation findings, the patient's presentation, and the evolving health‑care environment. Consult with other healthcare professionals as indicated. Recognize and document changes in the patient's condition requiring modification of the plan of care and/or the need for medical or rehabilitation consultation. Complete appropriate discharge planning and follow‑up care. Accurately and timely document and charge for patient care activities, including focused initial evaluation/plan of care that establishes baseline and goals, daily encounter notes, interim progress summaries, and discharge evaluation. Demonstrate effective time management, meet productivity expectations, and manage an accurate schedule. Provide frictionless patient access to care through flexibility, adaptability, creativity, and actions that display empathy. Pursue and direct continuing education for professional growth and competency. Serve as a clinical instructor to assign students, assist with orientation and mentoring of inexperienced staff, students, volunteers, and technicians. Qualifications Bachelor’s, Master’s, or Doctoral degree in Physical Therapy. Graduate of an accredited School of Physical Therapy. Licensure in Maryland, District of Columbia (DC), and/or Virginia as required for the specific location(s). American Heart Association BLS (Basic Life Support) for Healthcare Providers CPR certification.
