Medical Temporaries, Inc. is currently seeking an experienced ***Patient Service Coordinator***. 

• Minimum of 6 months of experience required working in an administrative role in a medical office. 

This is a FT (24-32 hours on average a week) long term temporary position (for a minimum of 3 months) working any hours between 7:30am - 5:00pm for a total of 8.5 hours a day (example of schedules: 7:30a to 4p, 8a to 4:30p, 8:30a to 5p). Must be flexible this role will be to fill in to accommodate callouts, vacations, and operational needs. Position located in Elizabeth City, NC 27909. 

Responsibilities:

A Day in the life of a Patient Service Coordinator:

As a Patient Service Coordinator serves as the first point of contact for patients, providing exceptional customer service while ensuring the efficient coordination of front-office operations. This role is responsible for scheduling appointments, verifying insurance, managing patient records, and facilitating communication between patients, providers, and clinical staff. The ideal candidate is organized, detail-oriented, and committed to delivering a positive patient experience. 

Job Duties:

• Greeting patients in a professional, friendly, and compassionate manner
• Patient check in and check out
• Co-pay collection 
• Answering the phones
• Verify demographics, coverage, and eligibility
• Register new patients
• Obtain and scan required documentation to include medical insurance cards and identification
• Maintain patient confidentiality
• Assist providers and clinic staff with administrative support

Requirements for the Patient Service Coordinator:

• Required: 6 months of medical office/administrative experience
• Required: High School Diploma or equivalent 
• Required: Proficiency in EHR systems
• Required: Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Required: Ability to pass Background Check and Drug Screen
• Required: Must be reliable and a quick learner and have ability to multi-task with accuracy in a very busy environment
• Required: Ability to work at two different locations 

Preferred Qualifications for the Patient Service Coordinator:

• Preferred: AS in Healthcare Administration
• Preferred: Medical scheduling and insurance verification experience
• Preferred: Medical terminology and healthcare regulations
