Scrum Master – Power BI / Data & Analytics

Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Scrum Master to support Agile delivery for Power BI, data analytics, business intelligence, and reporting initiatives. The Scrum Master will facilitate Agile ceremonies, remove delivery impediments, coach cross-functional teams, and ensure the successful delivery of Power BI dashboards, reports, data models, and analytics solutions.

The ideal candidate has strong experience working with Agile/Scrum teams and understands Power BI, data warehousing, SQL, BI reporting, and analytics delivery processes.

Key Responsibilities

• Serve as Scrum Master for one or more Power BI/Data Analytics delivery teams.
• Facilitate daily stand-ups, sprint planning, backlog refinement, sprint reviews, and retrospectives.
• Partner with Product Owners to maintain and prioritize the product backlog.
• Track sprint progress, dependencies, risks, impediments, and delivery commitments.
• Remove blockers and coordinate with technical and business stakeholders.
• Coach team members and stakeholders on Agile/Scrum principles and practices.
• Support delivery of Power BI dashboards, reports, semantic models, data integrations, and analytics products.
• Coordinate with Power BI developers, data engineers, BI analysts, QA teams, business users, and enterprise technology teams.
• Help teams establish clear acceptance criteria, Definition of Done, and quality standards.
• Monitor Agile metrics such as velocity, sprint burndown, cycle time, and throughput.
• Facilitate dependency management across data, application, infrastructure, and business teams.
• Identify opportunities for continuous improvement and implement effective Agile practices.
• Communicate project status, risks, dependencies, and milestones to leadership.
• Support release planning and coordinate production deployments with relevant technical teams.
• Ensure business requirements are effectively translated into actionable user stories.

Required Qualifications

• 4+ years of experience as a Scrum Master / Agile Project Manager.
• Strong understanding of Scrum, Kanban, and Agile methodologies.
• Experience working with Power BI or Business Intelligence/Data Analytics teams.
• Experience managing technical backlogs and user stories.
• Strong facilitation, communication, conflict-resolution, and stakeholder-management skills.
• Experience with Agile tools such as Jira, Azure DevOps, or Confluence.
• Ability to work effectively with Product Owners, developers, data engineers, analysts, QA, and business stakeholders.
• Strong understanding of SDLC and software/data delivery processes.

Preferred Qualifications

• Scrum Master certification such as CSM, PSM, or SAFe Scrum Master.
• Experience with Microsoft Power BI, Power BI Service, DAX, Power Query, SQL, or Azure data platforms.
• Experience with data warehouse, ETL/ELT, cloud, or enterprise BI projects.
• Experience working in large enterprise or regulated environments.
• Familiarity with DevOps, CI/CD, Power BI deployment pipelines, and release management.
• Experience managing multiple Agile teams or complex cross-team dependencies.
