Life Insurance Specialist - Columbia, SC

Job Title: Field Life Agent We are seeking a Field Life Agent who will consistently engage in outside sales activities away from the assigned AAA branch. The candidate will drive new business with competitive products and help retain ACG’s 14+ million members. Responsibilities Solicit and sell Life & Health insurance and Annuity products under minimal supervision primarily within ACG branch locations. Demonstrate thorough knowledge of various product features and marketing and sales techniques, achieving established sales goals. Develop leads and prospects for new accounts through outbound/inbound phone calls, mailings, referrals, networking, website, seminars, etc. Prepare proposals and close sales of Life, Health, Annuity, Membership, and Financial Services products. Complete appropriate applications, forms and follow internal processing procedures to ensure transactions are handled in accordance with company policies and practices. Work collaboratively with the Branch to reach business goals, maximize leads, sales opportunities and take advantage of cross-sell opportunities. Assist Underwriting and Brokerage Departments in satisfying requirements. Respond to customer inquiries and problems and ensure sound sales practices are used. Prepare reports documenting prospecting and sales activities, maintain specified production standards and persistency levels for all required products. Drive to various locations to attend meetings or community events as needed. Qualifications Possession of valid State Life Sales licenses. Ability to take and pass LUTC or CLU coursework. Maintain Life and Health licenses required to sell products. Valid State driver’s license. Must qualify, obtain, and maintain all applicable state licenses and appointments required for selling and/or servicing Auto Club Group Membership products. High School diploma or equivalent. Minimum of 2 years’ experience with a proven record of successfully soliciting and selling life insurance products. Experience selling intangible products. Strong working knowledge of Life Insurance and Annuity products and services. Ability to listen to and analyze customer needs and provide suitable recommendations. Effective communication of complex information in a clear manner. Ability to prepare proposals and conduct closing interviews. Assess and reflect customer insurance requirements. Proficiency in mathematical calculations to determine premiums and values of Life insurance and financial products. Ability to build and maintain strong relationships with customers. Proficiency in prospecting and developing new sales opportunities and meeting production requirements. Work collaboratively with team members to attain business goals. Strong communication skills with branch partners and management. Understand tax and legal impacts of products. Strong organization, planning, time management and administrative skills. Represent Auto Club Life professionally. Proficient writing skills to compose routine correspondence. Work independently with minimal supervision. Good PC skills including word processing, spreadsheet, presentation, and email. Compensation $2,500 Sign-On Bonus. Payment terms: $1,000 paid after 30 days of employment, $1,500 paid after 90 days. Base Pay $25,000 (non-exempt, eligible for overtime). Unlimited income potential, average earnings $75,000-$100,000 (base plus commissions).
