Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Labor & Delivery position at an acute care teaching hospital in Coon Rapids, MN, requiring at least 2 years of L&D and postpartum experience on a 3x12 night shift schedule.

Details

• Work in the Labor & Delivery/Mother Baby Center of a 258-bed acute care teaching hospital and Level 2 Trauma Center
• RNs work across both labor and postpartum, with an average daily census of 8 deliveries and 15 postpartum patients per day
• Shift: 3x12 nights (1900–0730)
• Every other weekend required
• No on-call responsibilities
• Floating required within the hospital or to nearby affiliate hospitals as needed
• Charting in Epic (Excellian)
• Scrubs are provided by the unit
• No parking fees

Requirements

• Active MN RN license required (pending license accepted)
• Current certifications required: BLS and NRP
• Minimum 2 years of L&D experience with postpartum experience required
• Sterile vaginal exam experience required
• Fetal monitoring experience required, including external and internal fetal monitoring, IUPC placement and calibration, and recognition and treatment of abnormal fetal heart rate patterns
• Experience administering Pitocin (oxytocin) required
• Experience managing and administering epidural anesthesia required
• Epic (Excellian) EMR experience required
• Must reside at least 100 miles from the facility to be eligible for this position
• 1 supervisor reference required for consideration

• RTO of no more than 5 days is preferred
• Pre-start modules are required to be completed before the assignment begins
• Candidates who have previously worked at this health system as permanent staff or per diem must have been separated for at least 3 months from their last shift worked
