Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Labor & Delivery position at an acute care teaching hospital in Minnesota, requiring at least 2 years of L&D experience with hands-on fetal monitoring and postpartum skills.

Details

• Work setting is an acute care teaching hospital and Level 2 Trauma Center with 258 staffed beds
• Position is based in a Mother Baby Center where RNs rotate between labor and postpartum care
• Average daily census is approximately 8 deliveries per day and 15 postpartum patients per day
• Schedule is 3x12-hour shifts on days (0700–1930) or nights (1900–0730)
• Every other weekend is required
• Floating within the hospital or to nearby affiliate hospitals is required as needed
• No on-call responsibilities
• Charting is done in Epic (Excellian)
• Scrubs are provided by the unit
• No parking fees

Requirements

• Active MN RN license required; pending license accepted
• Current certifications required: BLS and NRP
• Minimum 2 years of L&D experience with postpartum experience required
• Sterile vaginal exam experience required
• Proficiency with external and internal fetal monitoring required
• Experience with IUPC (intrauterine pressure catheter) placement and calibration required
• Ability to recognize and treat abnormal fetal heart rate patterns required
• Experience administering Pitocin (oxytocin) required
• Experience managing and administering epidural anesthesia required
• Candidates must reside more than 100 miles from the facility to be eligible
• 1 supervisor reference minimum required for consideration

• Candidates who have previously worked at this facility as permanent staff or per diem must have been separated for at least 3 months from their last shift worked
• Pre-start online modules are required to be completed before the assignment begins
• RTO requests of no more than 5 days are preferred
• 13-week contract minimum; indicate interest in a longer contract if applicable
