Compensation: The salary range for this position is $94,187 to $131,125.

Meow Wolf's salary scales set the expected range of pay for this position determined by position grade. Off-scale salaries may be offered when necessary to meet competitive conditions.

The Exhibition Manager leads the daily operation, maintenance, and long-term care of Meow Wolf's immersive exhibition experience. This role manages the exhibition team across Art & Scenic and Exhibition Technology, helping ensure the exhibition remains safe, functional, visually excellent, and true to the creative intent of the work.

This is a management-forward role for someone who understands creative technical environments and knows how to lead people, set priorities, communicate clearly, and follow through. The Exhibition Manager should bring enough relevant technical and creative production experience to guide, prioritize, and support a team with a wide range of specialties, without needing to be the primary expert in every discipline.

This role is primarily focused on daily exhibition operations, maintenance, preventive maintenance, event support, and ongoing improvements that help sustain the guest experience over time.

The ideal candidate is a strong people leader and problem-solver with experience in themed entertainment, immersive attractions, theme parks, high-end escape rooms, museums, theater/live entertainment, creative production, or other guest-facing technical environments.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead the exhibition team across Art & Scenic and Exhibition Technology, including day-to-day priorities, scheduling, coverage, performance, and follow-through. Ensure guest-facing scenic, artistic, interactive, and technical elements remain safe, functional, and visually aligned with the creative intent of the exhibition.
• Oversee maintenance and preventive maintenance programs, including inspections, repairs, spare parts needs, documentation, and long-term reliability of exhibition systems and assets.
• Ensure exhibition issues are clearly prioritized, assigned, tracked, and resolved through task management software, inspection logs, punch lists, and project documentation.
• Partner closely with Facilities, Operations, Events, Creative, vendors, contractors, and artists to support exhibition needs and maintain a high standard of guest experience.
• Coordinate exhibition support for events, including readiness checks, technical/scenic support, protection of artwork, and post-event resets or repairs.
• Manage sustainment work, upgrades, redesigns, repairs, and small improvement projects from planning through closeout.
• Support the team in solving complex scenic, fabrication, interactive, AV, lighting, projection, show control, and guest-experience challenges.
• Maintain safe, organized, and functional back-of-house, shop, technical, and exhibition support areas.
• Manage administrative responsibilities including timekeeping, purchasing coordination, invoice review, budget tracking, and communication of resource needs.
• Reinforce safe work practices related to tools, chemicals, access equipment, electrical work, rigging, fabrication, technical systems, and public-facing environments.
• Communicate clearly with leadership about priorities, risks, blockers, staffing needs, project status, and operational trends.
• Build a positive, accountable, collaborative team culture where people take initiative, communicate clearly, and follow through.

Required Qualifications:

• 5+ years of relevant professional experience in a creative, technical, operational, production, or guest-facing environment.
• 2+ years of experience leading or managing teams.
• Experience managing multiple priorities, projects, repairs, or workstreams at the same time.
• Practical understanding of maintenance, preventive maintenance, documentation, scheduling, and operational follow-through.
• Technical literacy in one or more relevant areas such as scenic fabrication, exhibition technology, themed entertainment, technical theater, AV systems, lighting, projection, show control, interactive installations, or creative production.
• Ability to support technical and creative teams without needing to personally be the expert in every discipline.
• Strong communication skills, especially around priorities, expectations, ownership, and follow-up.
• Strong organizational skills and comfort using work tracking systems, spreadsheets, shared drives, email, and project documentation.
• Demonstrated ability to work safely and lead teams in environments involving tools, chemicals, access equipment, technical systems, and public-facing spaces.
• Formal education is welcome but not required; equivalent professional experience, technical training, or industry certification may all be considered.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience in themed entertainment, immersive attractions, theme parks, high-end escape rooms, museums, public art, theater, live entertainment, or similar environments.
• Experience managing scenic, art, fabrication, AV, exhibition technology, or maintenance teams.
• Familiarity with CMMS or maintenance tracking systems.
• Familiarity with scenic finishes, fabrication methods, installation work, rigging, lighting, audio, projection, networking, low-voltage systems, or show control.
• Experience coordinating vendors, contractors, artists, or cross-functional project teams.
• Experience with OSHA standards, aerial work platforms, fall protection, or other relevant safety programs.
• Familiarity with tools or platforms such as Q-SYS, ETC, Dante, TouchDesigner, microcontrollers, CAD, 3D printing, CNC, laser cutting, or similar systems is helpful, but equivalent experience in related environments is valuable.

Work Environment:

This job operates in a professional office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and scanners. This position also works in an indoor setting with exposure to noisy environments, dim lighting, strong visual effects including strobing lights, special effects, fog machines and small and/or enclosed spaces.

Physical Demands:

The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. Physical ability to walk, stand, take stairs/slides/elevators, and navigate the elements during the day and night. Employee may be required to remain in a sitting or standing position for prolonged periods, and repeat motions that may include the wrists, hands, and/or fingers. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus. Must be able to lift up to 25 pounds at times.

Work Schedule:

This is a full-time position that requires the ability to work a flexible schedule including evenings, weekends and holidays.

Supervisor Responsibilities:
