CUSTOMER SVC/CLERK

Deliver a high level of service and excellent customer experience by resolving customer concerns, identifying and communicating opportunities that could improve operations and create a better shopping experience, and demonstrating the company’s core values of respect, honesty, integrity, diversity, inclusion, and safety. Based in Colorado, King Soopers serves customers in over 115 stores throughout Colorado and Wyoming. Responsibilities Resolve customer concerns and questions efficiently. Communicate opportunities for operational improvement to enhance the shopping experience. Exemplify the company’s core values in all interactions. Maintain an organized and clean front‑end environment, ensuring compliance with safety and sanitation regulations. Perform accurate customer check‑out and adhere to company policies, local, state, and federal laws. Train, monitor, and coach associates on front‑end policies and procedures. Oversee front‑end operations to meet or exceed sales, profit, and labor goals through cost control, labor efficiencies, service excellence, and shrink control. Handle checkout transactions, refunds, voids, daily exception reports, cash tender pickups, coin canister exchanges, and till/coupon audits per company standards. Assist with front‑end functions such as stocking, bagging, cart collection, and cleaning. Identify unsafe conditions and notify store management; report any illegal activity. Provide back‑up coverage for the Service Operations Manager in their absence (excluding hiring and discipline). Communicate pricing and signage discrepancies to the pricing coordinator. Maintain thorough knowledge of checkout policies, procedures, and bookkeeping. Minimum Requirements High School Diploma or GED. At least 6 months of related experience or training, or equivalent combination of education or experience. Effective interpersonal and customer service skills. Good math skills (addition, subtraction, multiplication, division). Sound judgment and decision‑making skills. Friendly, approachable, outgoing demeanor and a team‑player attitude. Ability to work in a fast‑paced environment. Good oral and written communication skills. Preferred Qualifications Familiarity with Microsoft Office Word and Excel. Demonstrated teamwork to ensure customer satisfaction and a pleasant working environment. Provide friendly and efficient customer service, showing sincerity, patience, and respect. Greet customers with a genuine, friendly manner and assist them with product location and retrieval. Anticipate customer needs and address questions promptly to strengthen loyalty. Operates equipment (scanner, register, scale, check approval machine) per company standards. Comply with and reinforce food safety, sanitation, and safety regulations and programs. Ability to perform essential job functions with or without reasonable accommodation.
