The role also involves documenting approvals and non-conforming parts, supporting internal problem-solving and re-work decisions, and occasionally providing training on quality or manufacturing processes to production personnel.
Responsibilities- Perform in-process and final inspections of machined aerospace parts and assemblies using appropriate inspection methods and instruments, including simple to moderate layouts and setups on a surface plate.
- Determine and utilize the correct inspection tools such as micrometers, height gauges, air gauges, radius gauges, calipers, coordinate measuring machines (CMM), and other precision measuring devices to verify product conformity.

- Conduct final inspections on completed parts and assemblies to confirm compliance with engineering drawings, planning documents, and quality standards prior to shipment.
- Initiate nonconformance records for parts that do not meet requirements and assist in the disposition of non-conforming parts, including identifying re-work or re-inspection needs.

- Recommend and support the implementation of process improvements to enhance inspection effectiveness and efficiency.
- Communicate effectively and professionally with internal and external personnel to troubleshoot issues, address errors and trends, and negotiate resolution of non-conforming parts and required re-work or re-inspection.

- Associate degree or similar post-secondary or vocational training in a related field is preferred.
- Aerospace industry experience is preferred, particularly in inspection or manufacturing of aerospace parts and assemblies.
- A combination of related aerospace manufacturing experience and internal inspector training may be considered in place of direct inspection experience.
- Coordinate Measuring Machine (CMM) experience is preferred.
- Experience working with aviation quality assurance or aerospace quality systems.
- Ability to identify and support process improvements in inspection and manufacturing.
